How Work-Study "Works"
If you are eligible for, and awarded work-study, you will receive an award letter listing the maximum dollar amount that can be earned under this program. In addition, an explanation letter will be mailed to you containing a description of the program and a personalized Student Employment Form. In order to secure employment you must browse Career Service's online job search engine, UST Connect to browse possible job openings.

You must bring your personalized Student Employment Form to all interviews you may have. If hired, you and your employer must complete your personalized Student Employment Form. Once this form is completed it must be submitted to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, when it is received your work-study award becomes official.

The Community Service Work-Study Program
The Community Service Work-Study program offers students the chance to earn wages while helping a local non-profit organization. These positions typically allow students to come into direct contact with the people they are serving. This program is beneficial in that it offers students the opportunity to learn about the community in which they live, provide much needed service, and earn wages while gaining relevant work experience. Below is a list of non-profit organizations currently participating in the UST work-study program:

On Campus Employers
In an effort to offer students a wide range of options, employers are asked to submit job postings online via UST Connect to advertise any available student jobs with the Office of Career Services and the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid works together with the Office of Career Services and Testing to market available job openings.

Non-Profit Employers
Off campus employers who wish to participate in the work-study program must complete the Off-Campus Agreement and a Work-Study Request Form. These documents must be submitted for approval to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Once the request is received and approved, our office will contact you and post the job online via UST Connect. To obtain these documents or to inquire about participating in the Off-Campus Work-Study Program please contact our office (713) 525-2170 or email us.
