Recreational Sports
The goal of the Recreational Sports Office is to provide programs that promote a balance between academic and non academic life, promoting health, wellness, and positive health behaviors. We encourage students to develop and/or improve leisure activity skills and to begin regular physical participation which will continue throughout life.
|
Sport Clubs
Sport Clubs allow students to participate and compete in sports against other schools in the Houston area. In addition to competition Sport Clubs also provide students with leadership opportunities. Sport Clubs are completely student organized and run. If UST does not have a Sport Club that is not a problem. Students are always encouraged to start a new club they are interested in starting. |
Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff of all ages and abilities to share in their love of sports. UST offers a wide array of intramural activities each semester. To sign up for intramurals stop by the front desk of Jerabeck. |
Fitness Classes
Fitness Classes are offered in Jerabeck on a weekly basis during the school year. The goal of these classes is to provide students, faculty and staff with the opportunity to work out with a certified instructor with no cost to the participants. |
Recreational Trips
Recreational Trips provide UST students with great opportunity to get away from the city and enjoy the beauty of Texas. Horseback riding, hiking, fishing and rock climbing are just a few of the experiences that recreational trips have allowed students to take part in. |
Facilities
Jerabeck is the focal point of UST's sports, recreation, and physical fitness activities. The JAAC also houses academic classes and University special events.
Jerabeck contains a large gym, two tennis courts, weight room, fitness room, swimming pool, dance room, four racquetball courts, and men's and women's locker rooms equipped with showers.
Hackett Athletic Complex is the newest addition to the UST athletic facilities. Completed in the Spring of 2006, the Hackett Athletic Complex provides students with two lit playing fields, two batting cages and a pitching machine. |
