VICE PRESIDENT OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Dr. Jerry Kramer, AVPAA
Dr. Jerry Kramer - Associate Vice President for Academic AffairsDr. Jerry Kramer, in addition to being Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, took on the newly created position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at UST in July 1995. The administration created this position because of the increasing need for supervision of and timely assistance to academic and other programs as UST grew more complex and the number of interdisciplinary and other programs increased. Dr. Kramer’s responsibilities also grew throughout the decade following his appointment.

The AVPAA’s portfolio of oversight and engagement currently includes fourteen programs and a major service unit: Academic Advising, Catholic Studies, Center for Faith and Culture, Center for International Studies, Center for Thomistic Studies, Honors Program, Health Professions, Irish Studies, Learning and Writing Center, Prelaw Program, Service Learning, Social Justice Program, Study Abroad, and Women, Culture and Society Program.

In this role Dr. Kramer works directly with the Vice President for Academic Affairs in all matters pertaining to administration of the University’s academic programs.

Due to his background as a professor of English, with many years of experience in teaching writing at all levels, along with specially trained editing skills and extensive knowledge of the University, Dr. Kramer also serves as “general editor” for both the Undergraduate Catalog and the Handbook for Faculty and Administrators, UST’s principal policy manual.
